Teacher Appreciation Week

My latest project has been teacher appreciation week! As a teacher myself, I see how many teachers are overlooked and under appreciated for all of their hard work. I decided to do something fun for my son's teachers at his daycare, there are 5 teachers and the owner, who is not only one of his teachers, but also watches him at home two days a week to help me out. I made them a batch of homemade cookies and brownies and put a tag on saying: "For all of my teachers: thank you for being so sweet, thanks to you, I'm one smart cookie!" I forgot to take a photo of that one. I went to Walgreens and bought a few different gift cards, all the same amount and put them in envelopes with a message.

Two Starbucks gift cards.
One envelope read: "You are a 'tea'-riffic teacher!" The other read: "Thanks a 'latte' for all you do!"

Two Panera Bread gift cards. (They love Panera.)
One envelope read: "You are 'soup'er!" The other envelope read: "I 'loaf' having you as a teacher!"

One Subway gift card.
The envelope read: "There is no 'sub'stitute for you!"

And last but not least, for the owner, a Dunkin gift card that read: "I 'donut' know what I'd do without you!"

I had each teacher choose an envelope. I told them it'd be a surprise what it was but they may be able to guess from my little message on the envelope! They thought it was cute and they seemed to appreciate it!

Moral of this blog: Don't forget about your children's teachers! They are some of the most important people in your child's life!
