Monthly Chalkboard!

I had done a semi-weekly chalkboard when I was pregnant, so I thought I'd do monthly chalkboards for the baby! Its amazing to see how much she grows in just one month and see exactly what shes up to. I skipped the first month, she didnt do much anyway but eat, sleep, and poop!

Alivia's Finished Beach Nursery!

So it took some tweaking but our baby girls nursery is FINALLY DONE! We got the finishing touch this week and now we can share!

This is the best photo I could get of the room as a whole! (Not very good) At first I planned to put the crib on the ombre wall, but after a vote among friends, they all agreed this was the best setup for the room. I wasn't sold on it at first, but I do like that now you can see the WHOLE ombre wall that I worked so hard on. With the crib in front, The bottom half was pretty much blocked.

The window/crib wall. The bedding set is called Isla Surf from Pottery Barn Kids, I got it on clearance before they discontinued it! More info about it here. The driftwood mobile was also on sale at Pottery Barn! The finishing touch to the room was the name sign! I found on Etsy at The Gilded Line. Its absolutely perfect!

Another view of the crib wall, with the nightstand I repainted, and added a whale tail knob. My aunt found an adorable whale quote picture, that fits perfectly with our nursery theme! I found the pink crackle lamp at Homegoods, its great because its dim and doesn't give off a ton of light, which is ideal for nighttime diaper changes! And the princess elephant piggy bank was a gift from my sister! So adorable!

The two white wood framed prints are from Hobby Lobby (50% off) and the Seahorse canvas I found here on Etsy and had a custom, larger size made! Its made of tiny seashells! So cool. I found the giant flamingo at Pottery Barn Kids, I loved it and had to get it!

The dresser/rocker wall. The shelves were from Christmas Tree Shops, years ago. I painted them pink and added some beachy decor on them! I found little pineapples and sea stars from Hobby Lobby, Christmas Tree Shops, and Homegoods. The wood ombre mermaid sign was also from Hobby Lobby and was a perfect fit for our theme!

This wall is covered by 2 closets, so I used the small space in the middle for this "The World is Your Oyster" print. The left closet will be used primarily for baby's stuff.

These shelf units were all in the playroom, since we upgraded the shelf unit in there, I moved these upstairs to make my own little closet organization system. I got all the baskets on Amazon (here and here).

I'm really happy with how everything turned out! It looks just as I envisioned. It was fun to try something new for our little girls nursery and put together my own design!

We Whisk You A Merry Kiss-Mas!

This post is a little late for Christmas, but maybe you can use this idea for next year!
"We whisk you a merry kiss-mas and a happy new year!" teacher gifts!
This year we did a simple project, between the new baby coming any day and planning Ty's 5th birthday, we didn't have time for anything elaborate. One of the parents did a collection to get the teachers gift cards as well, so I wasn't under any pressure to come up with another cute gift card idea!
Whisks are more expensive than you'd think! I looked everywhere online and on Amazon, and the cheapest ones I could find were like $5 each. No way. So I finally went to Christmas Tree Shops and found 2 packs of whisks that were $3 each. $1.50 per whisk is not bad at all!
I had the candy cane treat bags left over from another year, and I bought some big bags of Hershey kisses at BJ's.
First I filled the whisk with kisses.
Then I stuck it in a treat bag, and tied it at the top.
Last, I tied a ribbon around it with a gift tag, and stuck a bow on it. Wha-la! Done!
An easy, cute, little Christmas project. And who doesn't love chocolate??

Here are the gift tags I made, I just googled "Christmas border" adjusted the size, and added text in Microsoft Word. Just add your kid's name at the bottom!
